He md. 2nd) Lou abt. 1903 of East Feliciana, LA, daughter of Mahaley Selden b Sep 1830. Mahaley is in the 1880 Mt. Pleasant, Wilkinson Co, MS cens as Mahalia Selden age 50 b MS a widow living with her daughter Betsy was b. Sep 1861 in MS and George Washington (possibly Seldon) age 6 b MS.

In 1900 Joseph was a farm labor with his family in Ward 3, outside of Jackson Town, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. In 1910 he was living in Ward 4, East Feliciana, LA and Mahala, his mother in law, is still with the family. In 1920, he is listed as Joe Worshum age 75 in the West Feliciana, LA cens. (p186B).
