1.  Joseph B Worsham b abt 1824 VA m Amanda Stokes about 1848. Descendants lived in Lawrence, MO & Calloway, MO.  An 1849 Lawrence Co, MO Probate Box 1, file 29, mentions Thomas Marshall, John Guthrie, J B Worsham Bondsman and the 1865 Lawrence Co, MO Probate Box 9, file 232, of N B Fike, has J B Worsham, Bondsman. He d 1873 and Amanda d 1878. (John B. Worsham, 2001) John B. Worsham's great grandfather (John B) farmed the MO River bottom land and islands in the Cedar City, MO area. His dad told him that he had an great uncle (called him Uncle Dick) that went to Texas. "It was reported to my dad that he became rich in the oil or cattle business." This family history connects Joseph and William Talbert Worsham (see page 791). William Talbert in the 1840 Cootesandesein, Callaway Co, MO census page 199, as
William T Worsham & living in the house are: 2m age 20-30, 1 f age <5, 1 f age 15-20. Also nearby is Henry Stokes age 40-50 who is probably the father of Araminta Ann Stokes & Amanda Stokes.  The male, age 20-30 was probably Joseph B Worsham, probable brother of William T Worsham.

According to Amy L Worsham, 2001, another child of Joseph & Amanda was Miriah Worsham.  Amy wrote:

My great-great Grandfather was Joseph E Worsham (1824-1873). He had a child Miriah Worsham who m Lindsey Carson (He was Kit Carson's brother). Aunt Lillie Jane McCarty's family had a picture of Miriah and Lindsey Carson in a family album.

However, this Miriah was born abt 1831 in Missouri (1880 census), too early to be a child of Joseph and Amanda.

Leanne Lewis Norman

Nina is the d/o Stephen Conger and Lucy Jane Gordon.

Joseph E. Gordon had a second wife Mathilda Henderson and they had a daughter Maria Louisa Gordon.
Maria Louisa Gordon is Lucy Jane Gordon Conger's half sister.
Maria L. Gordon married John Williams who died and Maria Gordon Williams' second husband was Lindsey Carson II the brother of Christopher Huston "Kit" Carson.

So the Lindsey Carson connection does not come from the Worsham side of the family, it comes from the Conger/Gordon side of the family.
