The bed came yesterday In good shape. We are having
It varnished and put In good condition and my wife Is as
proud of It as she can be. We appreciate very much the

not allow you to prepay the freight on it and sent the money
to Will Russell today to pay the freight.
Maggie leaves for Tennessee on a visit to her sister
In a few days. She will be gone three or four weeks. After
her return my mother will make us a visit and while she is
with us I sincerely hope that you may be able to make us a
visit also.
One of your former citizens, Rev. Joe Westmoreland,
who now lives in Natcbez in Anderson Co., just left here
where he has been taking the Pasteur treatment to prevent

"Athens, Texas, Sept 19. A theater with a Saturday afternoon crowd of about 500 children caught fire here yesterday and burned to the ground after all the youngsters had reached safety. A 48 year old garage worker made two trips into the burning theater to lead crying, puzzled children to safety. Most of the children fled quickly through the front and rear door. Henry Worsham, foreman of a car body shop adjacent to the theater, found two small girls crying amid the flames on the first trip and carried them to safety. "Those girls would have burned to death if it hadn't been for Henry Worsham," said Sheriff Jess Sweeten. On his second trip, accompanied by Stuffy Hutchinson and Lloyd Hood of Athens, Worsham found two boys huddled together, crying. One didn't want to leave because he couldn't find one of his shoes... Worsham was blistered on the face."
