"Mrs. Harry Trautwein is quite
sick at this writing. Henry Mummy now lives on the N. L. Washum farm. Five additions to
the Christian Church Sunday Night. Charles Williams of Iowa is visiting his relatives
here. Dr. Reynolds, and Charles Frank were Barry visitors here Monday. Chas. Driven, son
of Jno. Driven died of brain fever last week. Orren Stout made a business trip to
Jacksonville and Concord last week. Mrs. Moorhead, wife of Dr. T. W. Moorhead died
Sunday. Her remains were laid to rest Monday. The old folks entertainment at the
Christian Church was well attended. It was quite a financial success as well. A young
man from Tennessee has just arrived to work for George Hoskins. We have not learned his
Name. Our mail carrier started for Pittsfield with the mail (as he thought) Monday, and
when he was about six miles from town he discovered he did not have it. He had the
pleasure of riding back after it."

"James A Worsham, mayor of Maroa,
will speak at Second Presbyterian church Sunday evening on "Men and
Religion" under the auspices of the Men's Bible class of which J O Engleman is
teacher. Mr Worsham has had an unusual opportunity to study men from two
angles. For ten years he was connected with a large coal mine and worked his
way up to general manager. For five and a half years he has been general
manager of the Maroa manufacturing company. In all his experience he has never
had a strike and has kept the closest touch with the men employed. His
experience in coal mine was also an experiment in the influence of
Christianity on men and on the community.... Mr. Worsham is convinced that
religion pays in every way and that industrial problems cannot be solved apart

(Change middle initial from M. to Amos) In the Pike Co, MO probate records,
James H Worsham was appointed his guardian. Richard was listed as either
Richard A. or Richard Amos Worsham, a minor from 1860 to 1869. In one
instance, he is recorded as Richard M with James H Worsham, his guardian.
Richard's death was recorded in Pike Co Probate Record Vol F (1868- 1871)
p 273 dated 8 Dec 1869. Richard's estate of $412.55 was distributed to
James H. Worsham; Henry I. Stark; James F Worsham; John H. Worsham; &

James Frank is a son of James Worsham & Nancy Jane Triplett according to
John Helenthal. James Frank Worsham was in par. 126.96.36.199.2.2.2A.3A.1 on page
387 as a s/o Thomas George Worsham & Nancy Margaret Ashbaugh. We believe
he is s/o James H. & Nancy Jane Triplett. He appears to be the James F.
age 5 in the 1870 Census with James H. & Nancy Jane and the James F.
mentioned in the History of Nancy Jane Triplett above. He is age 16 &
living with his mother, Nancy J. in the 1880 Calumet, Pike Co., MO Census.
In the 1910 Census, Amos L. Worsham is living with James Frank Worsham, a
cousin. Amos Worsham is s/o John Luke who is s/o Richard Worsham was living
with Nancy Jane in the 1900 Pike Co., MO Census and is listed as her nephew.
Amos Worsham is listed as a cousin to James Frank Worsham, therefore, it is
reasonable that James Frank is the s/o Nancy Jane.
Dennis and Bev Stobie, 2004,
found in the Ellis Library at the University of Missouri in Columbia, The Clarksville

"While Mrs. Frank Worsham was away from home last Sunday the men folks wanting to surprise her attempted to cook dinner. The surprise was complete. The house and contents almost entirely destroyed. Loss about $1200 or $1500 dollars, insurance $800. The dinner was well done.
In the 1920 Census, Amos

Union Army in the Missouri 49th Regiment, Missouri Infantry, Company D as a Private.
There were 2 Civil War CDV's posted on Ebay in
2007. The one labeled J. L. Worsham is John Luke Worsham. The woman in the
second picture, labeled S. Worsham, may be John's sister, Sarah Elizabeth Worsham.
They were advertised as:
"... a husband and wife but
are a bit more unusual than most. You can see the soldier sitting down with a bit of a
flag in the picture as well as a sleeve from a dress under the flag. The CDV of his wife
shows her holding a flag and the same dress sleeve is on her dress. When you hold the 2
together just right you can see that these two were together when their photo's were
taken. The photographer probably took their photo together then made copies of their
photos separate. The back of the woman's CDV says 'S. Worsham - Clarksville, Mo' and the
back of the soldier's CDV says 'J. L. Worsham Co. H 49th Mo Inft. Clarksville, Mo' Here
are J. L. Worsham's stats: John L. Worsham Residence was not listed; Enlisted as a
