Mr Worsham has had an unusual opportunity to study men from two angles. For ten years he was connected with a large coal mine and worked his way up to general manager. For five and a half years he has been general manager of the Maroa manufacturing company. In all his experience he has never had a strike and has kept the closest touch with the men employed. His experience in coal mine was also an experiment in the influence of Christianity on men and on the community.... Mr Worsham is convinced that religion pays in every way and that industrial problems cannot be solved apart from it..." James Frank is a son of James Worsham & Nancy Jane Triplett according to John Helenthal. James Frank Worsham was in par. 1.5.4.3.2.2.2A.3A.1 on page 387 as a s/o Thomas George Worsham & Nancy Margaret Ashbaugh. We believe he is s/o James H. & Nancy Jane Triplett. He appears to be the James F. age 5 in the 1870 Census with James H. & Nancy Jane and the James F. mentioned in the History of Nancy Jane Triplett above. He is age 16 & living with his mother, Nancy J. in the 1880 Calumet, Pike Co., MO Census. In the 1910 Census, Amos L. Worsham is living with James Frank Worsham, a cousin. Amos Worsham is s/o John Luke who is s/o Richard Worsham was living with Nancy Jane in the 1900 Pike Co., MO Census and is listed as her nephew. Amos Worsham is listed as a cousin to James Frank Worsham, therefore, it is reasonable that James Frank is the s/o Nancy Jane.

Dennis and Bev Stobie, 2004, found in the Ellis Library at the University of Missouri in Columbia, The Clarksville Banner, Apr 14, 1905: "While Mrs. Frank Worsham was away from home last Sunday the men folks wanting to surprise her attempted to cook dinner. The surprise was complete. The house and contents almost entirely destroyed. Loss about $1200 or $1500 dollars, insurance $800. The dinner was well done.

In the 1920 Census, Amos Worsham is living with Frank Worsham, a cousin. James Frank Worsham md Nettie S. b Oct 1869. (5-1870; 45-1920) They are in the 1900 Pike Co., MO, ED 85, St 2. Worsham b 16 Nov 1901 & d 12 Dec 1905 & an infant daughter who d 11 Jul 1907. James may have also had a dau. Juda W. Worsham b. 1883-1969 who is also bur. in Greenwood cemetery. Social Security Death records have her b. 11 Sep 1883 & d. Sep 1969 Clarksville, Pike, MO.

Misleading, is the cemetery record of Pike Co., MO where John H. Worsham is listed as born 21 Oct 1864 but he is age 4 on the 1870 Census. He may have been born in 1865 instead of 1864. (Old # 1.5.4.3.2.2.5.4B.3.)

1.5.4.3.2.2.2A.1B.5. Sarah S. Worsham "Sallie" b 14 Nov 1869 Pike Co., MO md John B. Beauchamp 24 Dec 1888 Clarksville, Pike, MO an agriculturist. John b 24 Feb 1868 and d 6 Oct 1956. Both are bur Greenwood Cemetery. (old # 1.5..4.3.2.2.5.4B.4.)

1.5.4.3.2.2.2A.2. John Luke Worsham b Dec 1835 Pike Co., MO md. Margaret Jane Robertson 31 Apr 1859 Lincoln Co., MO.   In U.S. Civil War Soldiers, 1861-1865, he is listed as John L. Washam & John L. Worsham.  John enlisted in the Union Army in the Missouri 49th Regiment, Missouri Infantry, Company D as a Private.

There were 2 Civil War CDV's posted on Ebay in 2007.  The one labeled J. L. Worsham is John Luke Worsham.  The woman in the second picture, labeled S. Worsham, may be John's sister, Sarah Elizabeth Worsham.  They were advertised as:

"... a husband and wife but are a bit more unusual than most. You can see the soldier sitting down with a bit of a flag in the picture as well as a sleeve from a dress under the flag. The CDV of his wife shows her holding a flag and the same dress sleeve is on her dress. When you hold the 2 together just right you can see that these two were together when their photo's were taken. The photographer probably took their photo together then made copies of their photos separate. The back of the woman's CDV says 'S. Worsham - Clarksville, Mo' and the back of the soldier's CDV says 'J. L. Worsham Co. H 49th Mo Inft. Clarksville, Mo' Here are J. L. Worsham's stats: John L.
