1.1. Sarah A T Worsham b abt 1826 of Harris, GA m Ashbury F Switzer 30 Jan 1848 Harris Co, GA. Anne Webb Nelson, 2001, discovered some papers written sometime after 1920 possibly by her great uncle Hugh Webb, that appear to be copied from a Bible Record. It reads "Sarah A J Switzer Died 06/20/51 don't know whose child she is or where buried." Anne believes Sarah A J Worsham Switzer's second name was Angelina, since Cordelia named her third daughter Sarah Angelina. Sarah Angelina and Georgiann Hazeltine are both buried in the Double Churches Cemetery in Muscogee, Co, GA.

1.2. Cordelia Brandon Worsham b abt 1829 of Harris Co., GA m William Henry Webb 5 Jan 1849 Harris Co, GA. William b abt 1829 GA. Anne W. Nelson, 1999, wrote that an early Bible record shows Cordelia Brandon Worsham as the daughter of John and Margaret Worsham.  In 1850 Cordelia, age 18, and William H. Webb, age 21, are in Harris Co., GA in the Valley Plains District, p 143 living next to her mother, Margaret. In 1860, they were enumerated in Muscogee Co, GA, p 312, William H age 26 & Cordelia age 26. William H. Webb joined one of the Muscogee Units, but was "discharged by substitution." In 1870, the couple is in Newberry Co, SC, p 660 as W H Webb age 40 and Cordelia age 37.   In 1880, they are in Sherman, Grayson Co, TX with sons Wm B age 10, & Thomas S age 8 b SC and daughter Margaret Harrington & son in law Hugh Harrington, p 46.

She was b 17 Oct 1885 Wyandotte, Kansas and d 19 Feb 1973 Dallas, TX. (Evelyn Webb, 2002)  Children: (Evelyn Webb, 2002)

1.2.2A.4.1 Margaret Josephine Webb b. 11 Apr 1914 Dallas, TX; d. 25 Sep 2000, Malakoff, TX. She m Walter Luke Winborn 4 Jan 1940, s/o Walter Winborn & Mary Lanza. He was b 20 Mar 1914 Dallas, TX & d June 2000 Malakoff, TX. Children: Sandra Ray Parkman Winborn b. 24 Nov 1934 Dallas, TX, d. 23 Mar 1978 Dallas, TX & Julianne Winborn b. 16 Oct 1948.

1.3. Rufus G Worsham b abt 1830 of Harris Co., GA. (20-1850; 27-1860; 50-1880; 78-1910) Rufus m 1st) Ella b abt 1840 GA. 

Ella is in the 1860 Macon, Bibb Co, GA census as Ella Worsham age 20 b GA with her dau, Cordelia age 3 b GA.  Cordelia may have been named after the sister of Rufus.

Rufus m 2nd) Elizabeth abt 1856 of Smith Co, MS. She was b abt 1840 in AL. Rufus and Elizabeth are in the 1860 Smith Co, MS census & the 1870 Sunflower Co, MS cens.

He m 2nd) Josephine of Leflore, MS b abt 1850 AL. Rufus and Josephine are in the 1880 Leflore Co, MS cens.

On 18 Jan 1891 in Yazoo Co, MS, R G Worsham m 4th) Mattie L Walton.

R. G. Worsham m 5th) S M Banks 28 Mar 1900 Scott Co, MS.

In 1910 Rufus G Worsham is living in Jones Co, MS with his son, Jim R Worsham. According to The Jefferson Davis Home and Presidential Library, 2244 Beach Boulevard, Biloxi, Mississippi 39531: Worsham, R G; Jones Co (residence at time of admittance); b. Georgia; 6 January 1911 (date of admission); 80 (age at time of admission); Co. A, 6th Mississippi Infantry; no death date listed; Buried: Beauvoir Confederate Cemetery (Biloxi, MS), plot A-07-197; Beauvoir.  

This family photograph was provided by Daryl Gambrell, 2002: "From left to right in picture Rufus G Worsham, James Ruggles Worsham, Frances (Fannie Worsham), Kate Worsham in chair, James Nazareth Worsham (James Nazareth m Frances Elizabeth Wheeler, she died before this picture was taken, ca 1894),  elderly lady is person who took care of children "Aunt Janie?"  My grandmother Rose Adelle Worsham and unknown boy.  The picture was possibly taken at a school near Garlandsville, in northern Jasper Co, MS.  That is where James N and family lived prior to moving to Jones Co. where he married Martha (Marthie) Jefcoat to sire a second family."  Photo of Rufus G Worsham family is also on Find A Grave Memorial # 60104672 which lists people in photo as left to right: Rufus G Worsham (Coon's dad), Jim Worsham, Fanny Worsham, James Nathan "Coon" Worsham, Fanny Wheeler Rushing, Rose Worsham Flynt.  Last on right unknown. Little girl in front: Kate Worsham Graves.

Cordelia Worsham "Delia" b 29 Jul 1856 GA.  Cordelia may have been named after the sister of Rufus.  She is living with her mother, Ella, in the 1860 Macon, Bibb Co, GA census as, Cordelia age 3 b GA.  Delia Worsham b 29 Jul 1856 Inverness, Sunflower, MS, d 16 Nov 1941 & m Jim T Mitcham 13 Jan 1878 Hinds, MS. (IGI)  Jim is John T. Mitcham b May 1855 MS in the 1900 Mount Hope, Copiah, MS census.  Cordelia died 16 Nov 1941 of Sunflower, MS. (IGI)

According to Daryl Gambrell, 1999:

"One of my aunts thinks that there was another female child (of R G Worsham) named Dealie."

1.3B.1. John M Worsham b abt 1857 of Smith Co, MS. (3-1860; 22-1880)  He is not listed with his family in the 1870 District 3, Sunflower, MS census.  John probably m Mrs. Susan Phipps 18 Jun 1879 Leflore, MS.  She was b abt 1857 of Leflore, MS.  John M Worsham is apparently found twice in the 1880 census.  He is in Leflore Co, MS with his father, R. G. Worsham, as John 22 MS GA AL farmer on p. 284A & is listed as J. M. Wisham age 24 MS GA GA farmer on p 288A. The page 288A reference, he is living with his wife Susan. Susan was age 23 MS MS MS and she had a son from a previous marriage named W H Phipps age 3 b MS.  He is living alone in the 1900 Sunflower Co, MS census as William H. Phipps b Feb 1877 MS and in 1910 he has a family in Sunflower Co, MS.

1.3B.2. James Nazareth Worsham "Jim" b abt 1859 of Smith, MS. (2-1860; nr-1900, 50-1910; 60-1920; 70-1930) He is not listed with his family in the 1870 District 3, Sunflower, MS census or the 1880 census. The family history of Daryl Gambrell & Skeets Wadsworth connect James to his parents. He m 1st) Fannie Elizabeth Wheeler 9 Jan 1883, in Leflore, MS. She d abt 1895 in Garlandsville, Jasper, MS and an "old woman raised her children. (Daryl Gambrell, 1999) Fannie Elizabeth Wheeler Worsham is buried in an unmarked grave at Garlandsville, Jasper Co, MS. James is in the 1900 Beat 3, Jasper Co, MS census as James N. Worsham age not recorded b MS GA MS widow cattle buyer (ED52, p241a) According to Skeets Wadsworth, 2000, after Fannie's death, James Worsham packed up a wagon and moved to Smith Co. & Fannie, being oldest child, did housekeeping and care for Rose and Kate until he married again. James m 2nd) Martha E Jefcoat abt 1912 in Jones, MS. She was b abt 1881 of Jones, MS. "a woman much younger than him and closer to his children's' age." In 1930 he was a 70 year old farmer living in Jones Co, MS. James died 1936 Jones Co, MS. (Leslie Reid, 2002) James N. and Martha Jeffcoat Worsham are buried side by side at Big Creek Baptist Church in Jones Co., MS." (Daryl Gambrell, 1999)

1.3B.2A.1.  James Ruggles Worsham b 20 Dec 1884 in Forrest Co, MS.  James had blue eyes & brown hair.  In 1918 he was a cafe manager in Hattiesburg, MS when he registered for the World War I draft.

1.3B.2A.2. Frances Elizabeth Worsham  “Fannie” b Sep 1888 of Jasper Co, MS. (Skeets Wadsworth, 2000) Fannie m William Thaddeaus McLaurin 30 Mar 1907 Jasper, MS.  He was b 10 Jul 1877.  In 1920, William was a farmer and they lived in Smith Co, MS and 1930 he was an automobile salesman in Jackson, Hinds, MS. William d 1934. (Rex McLaurin, 1999)

1.3B.2A.3.  Rose Adell Worsham b 3 Sep 1889 of Jasper Co, MS; d 13 Oct 1973 of Ellisville, Jones, MS. She m John Doyal Flynt 1 Oct 1909. He was b 25 Feb 1889, s/o John A Quitman Flynt & E Amanda V Hopkins. Daryl Gambrell's (2002) grandmother was the daughter of Rose Adell Worsham Flint. His mother is Gladys Adell Flint who m Astor Gambrell.  In 1930, Rose and John lived in Jones Co, MS where he was a farmer.

1.3B.2A.4. Kate F Worsham b 31 Dec 1892 of Jasper Co, MS. Kate m Willie Pearson Graves of Jones Co, MS. (Paul W. Smith, 2007)  They married abt 1912 in Jones Co, MS.

Willie, a short man with gray eyes and dark hair, was born 7 Nov 1889 Summerland, Smith, MS, the son of Josephus S. Graves "Joe" b Jun 1861 MS & Sarah Pinnell "Sallie" b Jul1858 AL.  Joe or Joseph & Sarah were m 14 May 1883 Jones, MS.

Willie died Feb 1974 Taylorsville, Smith, MS & Kate died Sep 1976 Taylorsville, Smith, MS.

(7-1920; 18-1930) Lottie married Collo K McKinley b 24 May 1908 of Collins, Covington, Mississippi & d 2 Nov 1977 Summerland, Smith, MS.  Lucille d 27 Jul 1995 of Ellisville, Jones, MS & is bur in Summerland Baptist Cem, Summerland, Smith Co, MS.  Collo is buried in Summerland Baptist Church cemetery in Summerland, MS, next to Lottie Lucille. 1.3B.2B.1.  Baby McKinley, a girl was stillborn and buried in the Summerland Baptist Church cemetery in Summerland, MS.

1.3B.2B.2. Carolyn Sue McKinley b 28 Apr 1934 & d 17 Mar 1935.  She died just before she made 1 year old and is buried in the Summerland Baptist Church cemetery in Summerland, MS.

1.4. Elizabeth C Worsham b abt 1835 of Harris Co, GA. (15-1850) The Columbus Enquirer (GA) 8 Jul 1858 has Elizabeth Worsham (230 sexton's list, buried 28 Apr 1858).

1.5. Susan M Worsham b abt 1838 Harris, GA, m W G Smith, abt 1857 of Smith Co, MS. He was b abt 1834 of Smith, MS. Susan M Worsham, age 12 GA, is living with her mother in 1850 census. In 1860 Susan M Smith, age 19 GA, is living with W G Smith, age 19, John M Smith, age 2 GA & Margaret Worsham, age 55 GA in Smith Co, MS.
