cemetery records, however, census records indicate he was born abt 1824. To date, we
have not connected Elam to his parents. He is most likely related (grandson) to Thomas
Washam/Worsham on Page 764 or John
Worsham on Page 354. These two men
have been found in Mecklenburg Co., NC.

NC and his wife Jane age 50 b NC. In the 1850 Franklin Co, AL cens, are Jacob
Albright age 51, Jane age 45, and Mary age 16. Mary was born 30 Apr 1834.
They are in the 1860 Franklin Co, AL census as Ellam & Mary Washam
(Western Div., Franklin Co., AL, Buzzard Roose, Family 263). He is age 35 b NC
with $200 P. E. and she is Mary Washan age 26 b NC and the children are John age
8 & William age 5, Mary age 1. In the 1880 cens Township 2, Chickasaw,
Colbert, AL cens, p 391D were Ealum Washumn age 56 NC, Nancy 45 NC their
children & James Husky (a nephew) age 9 AL.
He is also listed as Elam Worsham age 56 b NC in the 1880 Dickson, Colbert,
AL cens, p 374C with his family. Therefore, he was listed twice. His wife is
Mary A Worsham age 35 b NC with children with the last name of Worsham also: Wm.
age 23; George 18; Thomas 16; Sarah 14; Robert 11; Fannie 9; Elam J. age 5;
Andrew L age 3 & Jas M. Worsham nephew age 9. In the Chickasaw cens., Andrew
L. is not listed and the nephew is James Husky. Elam and Mary are bur in the
Margerum Cem, Margerum, Colbert Co, AL. are graves: B. E. Worsham b 2-21-1820, d

bronze star, American Defense Services Medal with Base Clasp, American
Campaign Medal, Asiatic - Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory
Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal,
Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars, Republic of Korea
Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of

Worsham of Northwood Drive in South Bend, Ind.; her three brothers, LeRoy, Matthew and Nicholas, all at home; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Julius DeCocq of South Bend; a maternal great-grandmother, Frances DeCocq of South Bend; and by a paternal grandmother, Bette Braun of South Bend. A private service and burial will take place today. The Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.

CORINTH - Shirley Worsham
Haynes, 72, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at her daughter's home in
Corinth. A lifelong resident of Corinth, she was born Feb 3, 1931. She was
a retired seamstress and a former restaurant owner. She was a member of
Grace Bible Baptist Church. She had twice survived cancer. She enjoyed
reading. Services will be today at Grace Bible Baptist Church. Burial will
be in Holly Church Cem. Survivors include two sons, Greg and Kathy Haynes
of Houlka, and Keith and Alice Haynes of Corinth; a daughter, Tracey and
Dobby Henderson of Corinth; six grandsons, Brent Henderson and wife,
Kimberly, of Corinth, Jason Henderson of Booneville, Josh Henderson of
Corinth, Keith Haynes II and wife, Dena, of Corinth, and Brenan Haynes and
Brock Owings of Houlka; three granddaughters, Britni Beasley and husband,
Tommy, of Houlka, Kristy Nunley and husband, Jesse, of Corinth, and Zoe
Henderson of Corinth; three great-grandchildren, Tripp Beasley, Brooklyn
Bailey and Abby Haynes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt
Haynes; two brothers, Norman and Houston Worsham; a sister, Verna Finch;
and her parents, Charlie and Lillian Worsham.
